Vortec Heads and TBI

I'm not real familar with the TBI system, or the vortec heads for that matter. I did a search and found the intake post, but not awhole lot on vortec style.

Does anyone know of any aftermarket intakes that run a factory style TBI but bolt to vortec style heads?

GM is the only true bolt up Vortec TBI intake that I know of. And they're price is like $250 or something rediculous

Edelbrock RPM vortec sqaure bore intake with an adaptor plate works for me.

the vortecs arent plummed for egr also if you didnt know that... you have to run an external egr which jprevost and others can go into much more debt about then me..

i wouldnt expect an answer from jprevost today though it looked like he turned 21 today... happy b-day man...

i would love to run vortecs but i dont want alot of hassle if i could just get a straight answer on how to bolt it up to my tbi it might happen soon... along with a 350 and lt1..just my sob story and 2 cents..

Don't the S/R torquers have EGR provisions? I mean they aren't quite as cheap as Vortecs, but if it has that, and uses a normal intake, it might be less hassel or cost if you figure everything together.

hey man, i dont want to pretend that i am a TBI master or anything, but if you check out my website, there is a lot of info as far as bolting TBI up to Vortec heads.

The tech parts of my site are far from finished, but nonetheless there is a section on "adapting TBI". some of the other sections may have some valuable info too.

any questions, let me know. addy is in the sig.

do a search on the board for "egr vortec jprevost" you should get plenty of good reading material to fall asleep too.
In a sumation, stock computers can be fooled into thinking there is EGR but that'll change the timing (advance) and THAT is what causes the most problems. You could program your own eproms and could simply disable EGR. How do you think I passed the NJ emissions tests with my car?

Yeah they do have EGR, that's why I went with them.

EGR = better gas milage so long as it's working and you aren't towing a boat! But what can I say, 3.73 gears and I still get 22mph on the highway .
I do wish I had EGR stll but the vortec heads are just that good and I never looked back.
