Gear Drive?

How do gear drives work with a fairly stock motor and a slightly modified tbi engine? I was going to get the 139.99$ petejackson gear drive. Will i need any extra mods to use it?

gear drives and knock sensor sdo not get along very well. it is also not a performance item really. it will not add any poswer or anything. it is just a bit mroe durable than a chain since it can't ever stretch.

More quotes from the rumor mill eh?

A 'quiet' gear drive properly installed doesnt affect the knock sensor one bit. Theres even people running noisy ones.

The only reason to go to a gear drive is because it is really precise,it's for people with race motors who degree in their cam's to 1/2 a degree and want to make sure it stays right there for optimum performance.

You don't need one, don't go looking for problems

I didn't know they made one for the roller cam's bolt pattern do to the knock sensor issue. Too much work to test and then have to take it back out.

Yea, they make one for factory roller cams. It setting off the knock sensor is the biggest pile of on the face of the planet. And then people insist on spreading a rumor they have no evidence to support.

<----- Trying to kill a stupid myth, but people just dont listen.
