List what I need for a 305tbi-350tbi swap.

Ok for this swap I will need the following

350 knock sensor
350 injectors
350 comp/chip

What else will I need for the time being. Im ona budget and since the 305 went south I need a motor soon and I will only have about 2000 to throw in for a motor. Please let me know if I missed anything.

BTW im probably going to get a lo5 long block and put everything I have including the lt1 cam in it. Then when income tax time comes ill probably put heads on it.

You'll need the 350 knock sensor, esc module and injectors.
Injectors:AC/Delco #17112493
Knock Sensor: AC/Delco # 10456288
ESC Module: AC/Delco # 16128261

if you plan to run a larger cam you might want to think about an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and another good idea is the Holley TBI unit. when you go to the holley website it is actually listed for use on 350 tbi trucks but it is the exact same unit, and all the electronics bolt right up, it is a good upgrade for the price. heard nothing but good things about it. I dont know what kind of price you are looking at but I know a machine shop who offers amazing deals. starting price on a 350 is $995 for a long block and to upgrade parts you just pay the difference for the upgrade... it is in Indianapolis, IN so you would have to have it freighted but let me know if you want the # I dont know what kind of prices you have got so far, I understand you money dilemma though,

Yeah man give me the number. I thought there was a few other things i needed. Im just gonna do the ultimate TBI mods and use my edelbrock TBI intake for now. I do need a vaccum advanced fuel pressure reg since ill be going with a lt1 cam...(very mild but i already have it and the lo5 cam is worse than the lo3 so...) Im gonna have to have a motor crated in anyways so ill give your shop a call.

Im about tempted to take out a student loan for this....3% interest plus i dont have to pay it back for awhile

I will try and get you the number tomorrow my dad actually had it...... and you might wanna look into a normal 4 barrel carb. intake they are cheaper and typically work better, all you need is a tbi adapter plate also available from holley.

I already have a edelbrock TBI intake on my 305. No point of changing now...i may eventually go carb or with a holley 670tbi but not until money allows.

already did swap

i did the 305 to 350 swap
went with a stock non-roller post 86 small block chevy
did the knock sensor and module change
went witht he holley 670 and intake, went with a 110degree Comp Cam
the thing is, do i need to change the ECS to make a custom chip, or can i use the ECS that came in the car stock?

just curious since you are telling this guy to get a new ECS
thanks
Joe

I hear the lt4 hotcam is NOT tbi friendly. The computer will hate it. I already have a lt1 cam so I will probably just use that since im digging for cash right now. I will check out paceparts and see what they have.

It's not the hotcam kit it just the lt4 cam and your going have to burn a custom chip any way you go.

you wouldnt happen to know the parts # for the cop car injectors would you? Im going to go with the cop car route for now...should be very easy to get running with TBI for now until later when I switch to carb or whatever.

Well the engine im getting from paceparts is the lo5 version used in the caprice cop cars. They had a tad more HP because they have a l98 cam instead of the lo5 cam. They also have alittle higher compression at 9.6:1. The injectors are alittle larger and the chip doesn't have a speed limiter on it.
