ok need manifold help
please no "search answers i looked and for some reason maybe my error i could find this exact topic although i'm sure its been covered
i'm considering a performer maniflod with tbi adapter or an edelbrock tbi intake which is the better or if equal more economical intake.
or if someone could suggest a better option. that will be close to emissions legal or shall i say easy to cover up.
A little help please

I don't know what the rest of your combo is, but I have ran both types of manifolds and I think most people would be better off with the performer TBI manifold. Its alot easier to install, and probably better for all around driving. Right now I am running a preformer RPM and it takes more then twice as long for the manifold to heat up enough for the motor to run right in cold weather. I ran a performer tbi last winter and within about two miles of driving it was fine. This is because there is a water jacket arround the plenum and on the underneath side of the manifold.
If your car is used mostly for racing go with a four barrel manifold. If your car is not heavily modified I believe you are better off with the performer TBI.

you can adapt any performer manifodl that has an egr on it and still meet emissions eassily. the nice thing abotu the performer tbi si that it is a direct bolt on, no adapting needed.

go with a holley manifold and adapter. I bought a street dominator manifold and its very nice. Looks much better than my edelbrock TBI. plus it would be cheaper to run the holley manifold + adapter plate. I think the carb manifolds flow better plus if you ever gonna change over to carb or whatever youd already have the intake,

Hey TB305Camaro....I am finially going to pull the trigger and do the intake swap on mine.
Can I ask you some questions as to what you purchased (part numbers if you have em), what you had modded on your car, any issues with installation and what were your end results with the intake???
Thanks,
Much appreciated

I have the edel performer and adapter and i like it. The only complant i have is the increased maniflod volume means i have to crank it a little futher to get fuel down the runners and into the cyls. for it to start but thats all.

I have the performer rpm plus adaptor. Too much manifold for my application, shoulda went with the performer. Oh well live and learn. The hardest thing to figure out are the vacuum lines. I ended up getting a thing with a nipple on top for the brakes then the same thing had another vacuum port to run the heater vacuum line control off of and whatever the third vacuum line ran to connected to it too. Kinda fun. You can sort of see what Im talking about here.
