New Track Times

New fastest time, 16.5@82

I pulled the air cleaner off all together
I also locked up the convertor(was hitting second HARD)

My timing is still at 10. I need to barrow a timing light cause mine broke. I checked for timing notches, didn't see any? How do I set it to 14, where are the notches? Do I spin it clockwise to adv?

I got a few good races. Lost to a 6cycl Probe(stick) heads up
Beat a 00 Camaro SS with exhaust, I gave him seven and I got the flyby.
Raced a camin and beefed up LT1, I gave him 12 and I got the flyby, But he jumped early and I lost.

Going back next weekend end and I'll have all my goodies on:

Ported and polished L98 heads. Milled .020
218/218 454/454 cam
Performer intake
Holley 670
1.6 rockers
headers
10 bolt posi 3.73
8.8 wires
Custom Chip
etc.......

What does this mean

"Beat a 00 Camaro SS with exhaust, I gave him seven and I got the flyby"
Did he race u in reverse?

What was ure .60 foot, elevation u ran at

You should be faster then 16.5 i would think since u have a catback, locked up the converter, and k&n. Good luck with next weeks times with all the mods ure doing.

Thats definitly not right you should be hitting mid 14s-high 14s. Did u do the ultimate tbi mods and raise the fuel preasure. Also custom chip needed badly.

Track altitude and grade have a lot to do with times. Before I modified my car I was running 17.2@78 Now I gotten to 16.1@86. I have adjusted the fuel pressure, it's still not tuned prefect though.

Why would an LT1 cam and heads and headers and my other stuff have me running 14's? My brother's '94 Z only runs high 14's and he's got the entire lt1 with 3.42's and posi.

Slade1 ran a 15.414 with stock heads,cam,intake, and headers
his mods being-k&n,polished heads/intake,3.23gears,1.6 rockers

With ure lt1 cam, intake, tpi heads, headers, and catback should definitly run faster. Well i would think so?

There's a bit more to my list, they all work together really, but the major ones aren't in there I can say that... not even ultimate TBI...

I did my 15.414 @ 80% humidity and 60 F

This is about 700 ft above sea level give or take 50 ft...

As far as re-correction from sea level to some elevated level goes, at 5500 Ft above sea level I'd be running 16.5 @ 83 mph...

Multiply your ET or MPH accordingly to get sea level times and mph.

I think my cars a little more as is. But it prob needs to bump the timing, that would give me a few tenths. Also my car is such a dog off the line. the 2.77's are killing me.

remember, I'm using 100% all stock motor. even 10° timing.

And the K&N was off for the races.

I'm hoping for atleast mid 14's with all the other mods.

I've got the 305 TPI heads.

My friend has an '89 IROC 350 that runs 15.3@90 at the same track, and that car is definetly not beat down, and neither is mine. You just can't compare times from different tracks and expect them to all match up.

My best run slip is:

60': 2.425
330: 6.934
1/4: 16.509
MPH: 82.89

He was bracket racing... He gets a head start, and the SS had to catch up. We have an event like that every friday night called Street wars. We have it set up in two classes, Muscle Street which is 14.5 and faster, and street challenge 14.5 and slower. The idea is to write a time you think you will run on your car and run as close to it as possible with out going faster(then you lose), whoever is the closest and has the best reaction time (combined score) wins.

it was REAL STREET DRAGS, the event. Pretty much it is street racing. You setup a race with whoever you want and do whatever kind of race you want. So pretty much the SS was 7 cars in front of me. I leave at the line. The SS doesn't get to go till I get right next to him, at what point I'm at like a 30MPH roll.

That's a pretty cool idea. Gotta love the LS1 top end... How fast were you going when he passed you?

You are talking about GLD right? I have been there before. I havn't been to the real street drags but I have been to that track plenty. I am actually planning to go there soon before they close. maybe this weekend or the next. I have ran a best there of 14.98.
