Retard timing, pull some plug wires, if you have dual exhaust shove a banana in one side of your exhaust, oh and add about 1000lbs of stuff in the backseat.

Since you have the L03 better hope their daily driver isn't faster or they will make fun of you.

the timing is a good idea. and i was thinkin plug wires but wouldn't that make it misfire and run shiddy also? i still want it to be healthy just with lots less power/

Leave the timing were it's at, just disconnect the ESC connector. That way, it'll idle fine and start right up normally, but there will be no advance in the timing, thus no a heck of a lot of power during acceleration.

Trust me, it works... I've done it myself (not for the same purpose, but the effect is as I stated above).

Later,
Mike

So... after they are done driving it, plug the ESC back in, disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and you're done. Very simple.

You could get MSD ignition module and program it not to go above a certain rpm, but that's probably a little more than you want to spend.

Burn your own eproms with the code patch for a rev limiter at like 3000rpm. Works for me .

you could try to rig up a stop of some sort for the gas pedal, so that they can't go WOT.

the problem is, with an l03, if you do that, they may not get up hills

Could always swap engines with Pablo. I heard his piece is slower than a v6

If you are that worried about them beating on you car and disrespecting you in that way, then I wouldn't let them barrow it. Plain and simple...don't let them drive it. That is the easiest way to solve your problem. DOn't go messing around with the car to reduce power. Your going backwards my freind everyone here want to increase HP not decrease it. I still wouldn't let them use it, that's all. Your car, your choice!

That'll ruin a motor in no time. Depending on which which injector and what kind of exhaust headers/manifolds you're running it could destroy the motor in just a few minutes. One injector takes out half of your motor but the o2 sensor might see some signs of fuel and report lean, injector more fuel, drench and wash the cylinders on some and burn the rest with such a lean mixture.
Like I said before, just program your own eproms and you can patch in a rev limiter. It won't hurt unless you keep bouncing off the limiter and it'll run like a champ up until the specified limit.
If that isn't cool enough you can program the rest of your fuel maps, spark tables, enrichment, highway mode variables, the list is VERY VERY long.
