Okay, here is the list I would use, some may have other opinions:

L31 Vortec heads milled down about 30 p/n 12558060
Performer RPM Vortec Intake or Air Gap w/tbi adapter p/n 7116
both from www.sdpc2000.com
The best deal on a cam right now is an LT1 cam you can pick a used one for 35-50 bucks online. But if your looking for more power go with a ZZ4 cam or a Comp Cam close to that, you'll pay around 200 for them. Also if you go bigger than the LT1 you'll need the upgraded spring kit for those heads.
SLP headers coated 1 5/8 primaries from www.slponline.com
Then I would beef up the tranny with a TransGo shift kit and put some gears in the rearend.

Next week I am putting on the above engine mods and I'm expecting 300hp out of my 305TBI with proper computer tuning which will be a must with that setup.

Also if you are doing a complete rebuild I would go with 30 over Keith Black Hyperuetetic pistons and ARP rod bolts.

excellant list 89fastlookinrs. only thing i woudl add is a good torque convertor. with an LT1 cam the optimal stall speed woudl be around 3000-3200 in a 305(peak torque will occur in teh 3200-3400 range most likely), an easier to live with, but still solid working stall woudl be 2400ish(a stock 4-cyl s-10 convertor is cheap and fits this bill perfectly)

Hey, I've heard those 4 cyl. s10 convertors mentioned a few times now. What years are those from?

the ones that are supposed to be really good were used on 89 and up 4 wheel drive 4 cyl trucks. teh ones used on the regular 2 wheel drives are very good too, teh 4 wheel drive version is supposed to stall a few hundred rpm higher. if you do a search for s-10 convertor i am pretty sure teh part numbers have been posted before.

Yeah the Holley 670 TBI will fit but you will need a manifold with 2" bores instead of 1 11/16 bores. You would be better off finding a used TBI unit off of a 454 truck, it flows almost as much. You won't, however need that much flow unless you do some heavy mods like what we listed above, so I would wait until after you have done the mods cause the car will still run descent with the stock tbi.

You can always modify your current TBI with the Ultimate TBI mods. That is pretty cheap. Cost you about $7 for the gasket kit (pt# 96-3013A) from Auto Zone. Just do the search for Ultimate TBI mods on this board.
