Cam for 91 350 TBI

I have a 91 Full Size Blazer with a TBI 350 and are looking for some 'moderate' gains in power. I run 35" tires and tend to offroad alot(rocks, mud ect.). I was looking at Jegs and they show a 'power package (Intake, Cam, Chip and lifters). Specs are as follows:

Are these good specs..I am clueless

350-3702
Cam & Lifters for 262-350ci
Adv. Duration: 244°/264°
Duration @ .050'': 194°/214°
Gross Lift: .265''/.294''
Lobe Seps. 112°

Can I install a cam with normal tools? Will I need anything special? Should I send it to the garage for this?

Why does it say that it includes a carb?

That is probably a decent cam for rock climbing. Camaro owners generally like a little more cam than that but you would be sacrificing to much low end grunt. Have you changed to some 4.xx gears? That would be the best gain in addition to that cam/intake.

Also, you can install the cam with normal tools plus a couple of special ones. You will need a harmonic balancer puller. They are pretty cheap. You will also need a generic gear/pulley puller to get the lower timing chain gear off. You also need the tool to properly put the harmonic balancer back on. All of these can be had for around $30.

Taking it to the mechanic to do it is EXPENSIVE.

Yes I have changed the axles to 3/4 ton with 4.10 gears and was a welcome addition offroad. Off the line it revs a lil more than it used to but its far from a race car lol. However the TBI in my Blazer seems to be a little 'jumpy' coming from a stop...some people would call it peppy...but it IS hard to take off smoothly without a little jerk. Is there an adjustment for this? Is something worn to make it act like this? The motor runs great in all respects other than that.

Sometimes the throttle blades can get a little carbon buildup on them and get a little sticky and when you open the throttle it hangs a little and then lets loose and opens more than you really wanted. A little carb cleaner and an old tooth brush can work wonders on a throttle body. I just finished doing that to my wifes maxima and it runs a lot better now and it only has 50k miles on it.

Looking at your package, I think I would like more lift than that on my cam. Ya know, that sounded down right disgusting. You know what I meant though right!?

The duration and seperation sounds good though. Just my $.02 worth.

More lift will open your valve farther allowing more air and gas in which = more power.

Flat tappet cams used in the trucks must run lower lift than the cars roller cams. Usually higer lift comes along with longer duration on the flat tappet cams and then you will loose a lot of needed bottom end with those big tires.

You might consider the Comp Cams 260AH-14 cam.
