Intake

hi,
what do you think?
will this fit on a '90 camaro tbi?
if you could get cold air to it, would it be better than an open element?
I've got my doubts!

ok ********

i think it would probably "Fit" but i don't how it would work with the contour of our hoods, it might not clear where the element is supposed to go.

i think you are fine with the OE, it should have PLENTY of airflow for even the most stout TBI cars.

i would not buy that piece. but the OE does not have plenty of airflow for even stock cars, that is wrong. why do so many poeple switch to a open element with good results? even on stock cars. i would go out and buy an open element, hey it works for all the faster carb gusy.....

I just snagged an entire extra air cleaner housing for $15, cut another hole in my housing, cut a piece of the snorkel off the extra one, held in place with rivets and JB weld, painted the whole new housing, added flexible hose from Autozone.

Coolant overflow bottle in the way, so I switched to a V6 coolant overflow bottle, and stuffed it under the plastic cover where the hood latch is. Drilled a 2.5" hole with a hole saw to get to the cap, and replaced longer hose to rad cap.

Created a homemade dual snorkel setup for under $25. Cheap, 2 hrs. work, and nice (noticeable) improvement on my otherwise stock LO3.

go with open air dude. not only does it sound better, but the stock setup cant even feed a 4banger with enough air at 4500. open elemnt sounds cooler and you can FEEL the power difference. after i did mine i kept up with a new mustang gt AND i had a broken trnny mount(not bragging, it was a chick and she couldnt shift for ****) no go with open element, drill a hole for intake temp sensor, let crankcase breather filter hang

"K&N style conical air filter sucks air in from the top
- Mandrel-bend chrome plated aluminum intake pipe allows unrestricted cooler air to be breathed into the engine "

K&N style.... thats not a k&N though. The real deal has K&N stamped in the metal lid ontop. Could be an AFE which does better than a K&N and uses that blue color. I doubt it for that price.

Mandrel bent, tube looks strait to me
