New chip leaner at lower RPM's
New chip leaner at lower RPM's
What should I expect?
I was told by several people that I was running rich in the lower RPM's...
The truck was launching descent with the old chip at part throttle/WOT. Theoretically, can I expect better performance?
I wouldn't ask this question, however, a broken rocker arm stud (that's been fixed) has bogged me down.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. But I can tell you, the closer you get your entire BLM table to 128, the better. I actually think running rich at lower rpm is more noticable than at high rpm, because it does cause the engine to bogg so much. You WILL launch (assuming you have traction) much better once you fix the problem, and should notice better gas milage, as most of your cruising is in that range. If you're not using winaldl, I highly recommend it, as it is an invaluable tool.

You'll have to make your own ALDL Serial cable, but it's VERY easy and the parts cost no more than $10.
A Laptop or a desktop with a long cord. What you could do is make the cord upto a length of 100 feet long so that you could connect it to a desktop cmputer. RS-232 serial specifications states that serial transmissions are good to 100 feet.
Since the ECM on the car is the pushing side of the serial interface, I have no clue if it could push the voltage as far as the specications state, but hey, it's worth a try.
The cord I made is about 25' with no problems.

Find HITHERE cheap lap top on ebay or where ever you can find one or barrow one, you really need to data log as you're driving the car to get good info for tuning and burning chips..

Try making your fuel pressure regulator adjustable. Then you will be able to turn down the fp. Get a fp gauge to go with it so you know what pressure your running.
