Well went to the track for the first time this year this past saturday,and came home extremely happy.My previous best was a 15.6@87 with a 2.19 60' last september.that was in mid 60's weather with 80% humidity.
saturday was a gorgeous day.80*,probably low 70% humidity,and plenty of sunshine.track temps were pretty high im sure as well.anyways best run of the day ended up like this:

only mod i had that was new for this year was a 3"pressbent exhaust and 3" Catco cat.i think that had i run in some cooler temps and had better tires so i could launch more aggressively,i mighta been able to hit some 15.2's with some low 2.1x 60' times.oh well next time i guess.i can honestly say that i think i do have one of the better running LO3's on the boards.considering the relatively low amount of mods i have,i am getting some damn good times.only problem i have now is I WANT 14's REALLY BAD!!haha i think headers alone would get me there at this point.

 

I was about 2 say that mine is better 4 the amount of mods seeing how im 14s with no engine work at all, but i see that you have no headers and stock gears and an automatic...kinda leads me 2 the theory. Sorry just dont see that time with that few a mods. Could be wrong tho its happened be4...once

 

I believe you, those are some very impressive times. Get yourself some headers and you will see 14's.

 

devilsadvocate,i couldnt believe it myself.but i dont think slips lie.if they do oh well,but i believe them.anyways i scanned the slip tonight.here it is.dont mind the poor R/T.it was tough launching the car due to the lack of traction,so i wasnt to agressive off the line.new tires are definetely my next "mod".

 

Nice times, those are a little quicker than what I had with similar mods. Headers will make a huge difference, I bet you'll get at least 14.8 with headers. No gears yet even, that's awesome.

Your 60' time is unreal.

I just went 1 week ago and the BEST 60' time I got was a 2.33 and that was NO wheel spin at all.

Are you SURE they're the stock 2.73's?

 

Those are very inspirational times.My L03 is bone stock, and yet to be taken to the track, but the times maroon91rs, and beast5spdGTA have made , serve as guide to all who seek 14 seconds down 1320 ft !

 

Beast,im hoping headers are my next mod.either those or gears.i really want gears so i can get my SLP posi in with some 3.42's.i think with those and new stickier tires i might be able to get 14's.if not then i know it will get me damn close.then the headers will be done.I CANT WAIT!!
AJ,to tell you the truth thats not even as good as they could get.that was with brake torquing to 1500,then coming out of the whole with just a little more throttle before going to WOT.i have really ****ty uniroyal tires on the back that do nothing more than create smoke shows.i think i could have a 2.10 or lower time if i had the traction i want.i wont be going to the track until i get a job,and when that happens first thing im doing is getting some halfway decent tires on the thing.and yes,i am sure they are the stock 2.73's.the car was totally stock when i bought it may of 2001.
oh and on a side note,i have managed to drop a FULL SECOND off of my stock times.thats a feat in itself with the little mods i have.

 

Wow, I can't believe some of these times being pulled. All I have to say is good job. You evidentely have a very well tuned car and can drive very well. I couldn't pull better than a 16.3 when my car had similiar mods.

 

lol i'd like to say i drive well,but after the first 2 seconds,i pretty much have nothing to do with it.just steer straight,keep the pedal to the floor, and remember when to push the shifter up that whole inch haha.gotta love autos for drag racing
