First off, do a good tune-up.

second, how much money DO you have.

top TBI mods:

Open Element, Ultimate TBI.
Exuast, headers --> Cat-back.
Gears/posi.

To get low 14's on all motor the shortest easiest way is to

Change the engine. $1800 shipped http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=128&pid=105

Change the injectors 55lb Injectors:AC/Delco part#17112493 $190 for a set.

Ultimate TBI mods: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...imatetbi.shtml

95+ S10 4.3L torque converter part number 24202310. I paid $100 for mine.

350 Knock Sensor: #10456288 ,$25.22 at gmpartsdirect.com
350 ESC Module: # 16128261,$46.37 at gmpartsdirect.com

350 computer chip for $50.

Complete exhaust change from the engine back with parts for a single cat TPI car = $500

Providing that your car has been altered and has posi then you may not need to mess with it. But likely you will need to change to 3.42 or 3.73 gears and posi which will cost you around $700 installed.

You can get in the low 13's with a Vortec 350 but that is going to cost about $1000 more and more work to get running.

yeah, ill be doing that swap after the tranny. L05, LT1 cam, Edelbrock TBI intake, either 48mm TBI or Holley 2", 65# injectors, cop car chip, and all my current mods. The engine is actually alittle cheaper at www.paceparts.com but only by like $7.

Transam creations USA, sells everything you need, Its basically a junkyard for F bodies. Or try ebay, but be careful.

The website is ,www.tacreationsusa.com , their in hialeah.

In their website, they dont have any aftermarket parts posted, but Im sure if you go to their facility in person, you can find used aftermarket parts from other 3rd gens.

Nitrous is by far the easiest way to reach your goal, but otherwise doing it NA here's some options.

I think we should make a sticky on what are the basic mods everyone does to make a 305 TBI car run 14's.

TBI mods and 1/4 mile times

who knows, there is alot more to getting an ET than just the engine mods, it comes down to the driver, the suspension, the engine, the tranny, it is a whole package. i would bet that my car would beat an equaly moded car with stock suspension pretty soundly in the 1/4, i can cut a sub 2sec 60' with my basicly stock lo3 and t5.

You should be able to run mid to low 14s with those mods, but tuning is extremely important as well as traction. I turned my 14.4 time into a 16.4 by having some ignition related problems(plug wires). So tuning is very important. Most parts you can just slap on there, but cam and/or heads require custom chip tuning to get the most power from them.

if you want to figure out what gears you have, put the rear of the car on jackstands so neither rear wheel is touching the ground.

put the transmission in neutral

put a mark on one of the tires.

crawl under the car and put a mark on the driveshaft

while you stay under the car, have a buddy turn the marked wheel exactly one full revolution.

watching the mark on the driveshaf, count the number of revolutions. if the driveshaft turns 2 3/4 times, you have 2,73s. if it turns 3 3/4 times, you have 3.73s. if it turns a little over 4 times, you have 4.11s. if it turns 27 times, you have big trouble.
