350 Throttle Body

Does anyone know if a throttle body off a carburated 350 corvette engine will bolt right up to the 305 TBI. Will I need to do any modifications to the Injector unit thing(don't know what it is called but it looks like a carb but not ) Or to the throttle body. Thanks for the info.

I think your going to get a little trouble from the guys on here.. you said a throttle body off a carbed 350. That doesn't work.. Carb and TBI are two different things. Yes a 350 TBI will bolt onto a 305, but you will need a modified chip as well, so the injectors will be putting out the same amount of fuel. You will have the same amount of fuel, same amount of air flow, and just be out the money to do that whole swap.

Unless I misunderstood what you were talking about.

I think you need to send me that 350 TBI. I'll put it to good use for ya.

Hi,

Helloriker is a friend of mine, and the TBI engine he's talking about lives in my sister's 91' camaro rs. I think what he's asking about is whether a stock GM 350 quadrajet 4 barrel intake manifold would work with a stock 305 camaro throttle body unit.(the intake came off my 78' C-10 pickup when I changed carb and intake)
I wouldn't think it would since the tbi unit is a two barrel type butterfly assembly and the quadrajet intake is set up for the four off sized butterflys of the q-jet. You never know though.

Thanks

first off you would have to modify the intake bolt holes to match his TBI heads. If it is a standard 4 barrel intake (not single or dual plane) then i doubt that it is worth the modification to make the TBI fit, i know they only make adaptors for single and dual plane intakes.

Yes I meant intake manifold. I always want to call that stupid piece of metal the throttle body since that is what it sits on and all. It won't cost anything really except for time. As squidd said we already have the manifold

they dont make TBI adaptors for those intakes and i think it would just be too much work for probably a very minimal gain.

just save up a hundred bucks or so and get a used edelbrock or holley carb intake with a TBI adaptor, that would definately be a big improvement over the stock intake and will not cost too much.
