can vortec heads fit?

hey i have an 89 camaro with the 5.0 tbi motor and i was wondering if i find some 97 vortec heads from a pickup or suv will they bolt on to my 5.0 and will they match my stock tbi manifold or do i gotta change manifold because if i do i dont want the vortec heads ok thanks

yes they will fit, no the manifold won't fit.

oh okay so what u have to do is by a vortec amnifold and then the holley tbi adapter right?so i need like 500 dollars because alot of junk yards have the vortec heads

or you can get on e-bay and for 600 bucks you can buy fully prepared aftermarket vortec heads. and save youself some money.

and yes you have to get a vortec manifold and an adaptor.

I have heard that the edelbrock intakes will work. Which is probably the best way to go.

okay so like by the end of the summer im going to install a lt1 cam and asome vortec heads port and polish the manifold and put some 350 injectors along with a chip.how much power is this going to give me?

DSLDUDE2001, how do you like your 3.42 gears? Was it a big difference from stock? Im trying to decide between 3.42's and 3.73's

I think they are perfect! On the freeway, if you floor it it jumps straight to its powerband, and the next thing you know you're going upwards of 90 mph. Off the line it is also amazing... They are so much better than the 2.73's i had!!! I dont know what to say as far as the 3.42 or 3.73 debate goes though, but I'm very happy with my 3.42's!

You can get em brand new from Jegs for that too... or the Cast Iron for just under 300 bucks...
