I have an L03 and I know they have horriable heads. If I could get a set of heads from a TPI car for cheap would that be a good idea. I need to change my valve springs and seals so I thought that if I had to open it up why not put new heads on as well. Anyone have a suggestion?

 

Sure grab some TPI heads. Clean them up, maybe fix the rough castings and such, replace the valve seals and springs. They will flow much better than the 187s currently on the L03.

with the poor cam in the Lo3's i wouldn't expect too much from just swapping heads. with all the other issues on the lo3, if you are doing heads, you will have everything apart, you might pick up a cam for it....

PS, i am selling an UltraDyne Racing cam that would fit that bill perfectly

ummm, No. Not necessarily. Heads and cam are critical components but far short of an entire motor cost wise.

What are you hoping to achieve with your car? Dewey (above) is running about 1 full second faster in the 1/4 than you with just tuning.

Yup those are 416 castings so they are the better 305 factory head.
