Tb + Wd-40?

Okay well my throttle has been sticking lately and i think it might be my throttle blades. Does anyone know if giving them some WD-40 would hurt anything? I'd prefer not to set anything on fire...

You can use that or you can use carb cleaner. Carb cleaner would be what I would use. I would just take it off and hose it down really well with the stuff and use a toothbrush to scrub out the funk on the bottm passages and throttle spring. You will be amazed on how much crap has collected in the bottom of your TBi unit over the years. Plus when it is off you keep everything tidy and you could also do the ultimate TBI mods.

replace your PCV valve more often.

about the only reason i would never spray something like a TB with an aresol lubricant is it attracts dust/dirt and it could accumulate and cause more problems, its good enough for the army to use on there M16's but our application draws air into it.

but on the other hand it does work.

Well I did it and it works fine. As for dust should it really be a big issue since the air goes through the filter? I know its not perfect but it shouldn't be too bad should it? Oh and Token I don't know what a PCV valve is and I haven't had the car long enough to even change the oil, let alone whatever that is. I'll definitly look into it tho.

Driver's side valve cover. Positive Crankcase Ventilation IIRC.

$2.50 part that should be replaced at least every 10,000 miles.
I just replaced mine and it significantly reduced the smell of burning oil in my exhaust.
That thing gets clogged so easilly.
I might try the fuel filter technique to catch drips of oil.

Yea the pcv i son the drivers side valve cover near tht front theres hoses that runs to the tb from it it just pulls out of the littl erubber grommet and while your at replacing it replace the rubber grommet they get hard and start to hurt stuff most of the time the grommet breaks when your pulling it out so get a small set of needle nose to get all the pieces out that fall into the valve cover. Changing both helped mine out immensley. Change the oil and put like 1500 miles on it then change it again it should start cleaning itself out a little if its real nasty oil. I know the oil in my rs looked liek it was the original stuff. No joke it was gummy as hell even when it was hot but it was real thin like water scared me to think i drove for 2 days with it like that. Good luck
