What year trucks have the l05?
Basically my question is what the title says. I can get a free 350 but I don't remember what year its out of, I think 85-87 I have to find out again.
The problem is the 350 needs a rebuild. Do you think its worth having it reuilt, of course I wouldn't keep it stock, it would get some work before it ever got into the car, hopefully 3-400hp. I don't know much about building motors so any idea what a stock rebuild would cost, and how much more if I basically handed them the assembled engine (I could probably get it apart if it makes a differance), and the parts I want in it, and said here, make this work?

Prices can vary. Call around your area and tell them what you got and that you need the bottom end rebuilt. From there up you should be able to do it no problem. I'd recommend saving for some type (any) aftermarket head instead of a GM one (minus vortec).
