is this a good TBI swap

my friend owns a 89 GMC truck which he bought and installed a nice 670cfi TBI on. well, he is selling the truck soon and we agreed if i could swap my stock 300 with his 670, we would do it before he sells it. so my question is.. first, will this 670 bolt right on my car, and will their be any complications? minor or major, cuz keep in mind, this is a FREE 670 and its about a year old.

You cannot just use it. There are a few things to consider. Would you be running it with your stock injectors or the ones that came with it. If you use the ones that came with it you will have to burn a new prom so that they work at the right psi. Also that unit has 2" bores and your stock intake only has 1 11/16". Meaning that there will be a lip in the way of the im comming air and cause turbulence. The stcok intake is more than capable of supporting the power levels of stock and mildy modded LO3's. You only need that TBI unit when you have heads and cam combos that max out tghe stocker. If I were you I would keep it for futur mods. It will do nothing for you right now but cause headaches. Read the "all go here" posts at the top of the page for more info.

I would go to a salvage yard and pick up a tbi off a Camaro or Caprice, then swap that one on his truck and save the 670 for later on when you decide to do more extensive mods to your car.

You can get a stock one on ebay for as low as 20 bucks.

not all 454 TB's are the same. injector size and fuel pressure varies per application on original donor car.
