it sees the race track in all forms (drag, auto-x, road course) regulary. and it is showing no signs of letting go anytime soon.

161k.....sees redline and 110mph several times a day. only leaks and burns oil while its running but other than that, she idles smooth as could be, and the engine couldnt be quieter.

not really.
i tend to drive 3 or so hours everynight for fun.. or other various things... and i take roadtrips across teh US as often as i can.
its at the point now where people are "only" 6 hours away, and i dont even really think about it. lol.
know whats really scary? the last 2 months of the year, i moved and bearly drove at all... so its more like 40k in 10 months.

Put 140K on the Camaro before the restoration...the engine was as good as new (i just wasn't gonna sink all the money into the rest of it and leave a hi-mileage 305 in there). Have 260K+ on my 89 Blazer with a 350TBI...the timing chain gave out at 180, but otherwise was fine...and the 700R4 in there, which reguarly sees runs on the soft sand at the beach, is as tight as the day she was made...and has never been touched. I'm the original owner of both of them.

mine has 133k on it, would have more, but the clutch went out at christmas, and haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.
it even knocked down 29mpg on the third gen nats trip to maryland last year. still waiting to take it to fla like i did for vacation in 1998 w/ my white rs (it had 118k when i got rid of it- the engine was strong but too many other things broke so i had to sell it)
as long as my 305 lasts through another clutch i'll be happy

146,000 and still runs beautifully. Keep changing stuff too...Ultimate TBI, open element, better exhaust, smog delete, and soon to have headers. She just likes me more and runs better every time I do something new....

175,000 on the LO3 RS, and planning to pass NJ inspection next week, haven't tried it since the LT1 cam.
227,000 on the LO5 c1500 pickup. Inspection good for another 22 months. When my father had the truck before me, he changed the oil every 6,000 miles with the cheapest conventional he could find. These roller motors go forever!

198,000 miles on the car. 305 to 350 swap at 193,000 only because it was just starting to loose some oil pressure and I wanted an excuse to drop the 350 in. The car itself is only just now requiring alot of little fixes (sagging door, idler arm, tensioner pully, etc...).

thats the key, with the power output of these cars, it is hard to punish anything other than you pride and probably a big part of the longevity.

288,xxx miles, LO3.
On its third owner. I abuse that car like no other, more than its previous two owners, who tore the car up. It's definatly a fun car, but see's the side of the road, and the ditch a lot (doesn't handle like it should, HAHA).
Stock, except for a few hoses, simple tune-up stuff, and a modifed air cleaner assy. Stock tranny (700r4), but the converter is about to blow up (nothing is holding the tranny still, if i remember right (broken mounts), so shes torquing around when I floor it, which is damaging the converter...and the rear-main seal...)
yea, I abuse my car...but one of these days ill end up blowing up the tranny, and getting a new one..then blowing up the engine, and finally getting around to my 406 project...

164k and still kicking, and not showing any signs of drivetrain fatigue AT ALL.
She'll light em up, take me sideways, and wax the ocasional 4.6L mustang (usually due to a foolish teenage driver and a stick).

L03 and L05 are really good engines for durability. I am pretty low though 138k on L03 with headers, exhaust, and open element. Only had to replace the rear-end. 132k on L05, with its only engine part being a water pump.

Mine must be pretty low then too. 137,xxx with some smoke at startup and after idling for a little bit. Other than that, the car is in great shape and runs pretty strong. It has been in my family its whole life

My 89 RS reads 59,XXX, I am assumiong it is 159,XXX but you never know since the motor is super tight no signs of oil leaks anywhere!!!( not even from the balancer seal or the oil pan, or the intake. Even my low milage Vortec motor has some oil on it,LOL.

141,XXX miles here, nothing too out of the ordinary. The previous owner rebuilt it at around 100, 000 - I don't know why. Regardless, it's strong, gets 27 - 30 mpg on the highway and uses little oil.

JUST turned 122,000 miles last night. Motor seems to run even stronger than when it rolled off the lot. Lots of parts have been replaced, but the engine has NEVER been touched. I'm the third owner and I by far drive it harder then the other 2 did. She gets 20mpg in the city and has hit 30.9 on the highway (that trip 3/4 of the tank was travel, the last 1/4 was used at the dragstrip!!!) I bought her on July 7th, 2002 with 95,600 miles, so I've put 26,400 miles on her in almost 2 years...

184,xxx and adding every day. All stock, bought at 181,xxx. No leaks, burns a little oil at start-up (probably valve seals). Cap, rotor, module and coil burned (literally) at about 182,xxx. Hopefully it will chill out a little bit until I can find a good high performance/emmisions legal crate engine to swap in. Guess I'm a little leary about dumping a bunch of $$$ into a 305 to make it fast (Ex-muscle car guy, 355s, 396s...etc...).

I just clicked over 200,000 the other day. I bought her with 97,000 about 4 or 5 years ago. New motor went in at 197,000 (350ci). She was real rough when I first got her and although I've still got a long way to go it's 200% better than when I got it.

As for me, 163k miles. Very slight oil leak, nothing to worry about at the moment, I should do valve seals but they aren't really bad either and I have absolutely no money to spend after ordering the door sag repair kit from TDS and replacing my alternator the other day. But it runs really well! Idles sooo smooth. I think it idles nicer than my dad's 96 Grand Am GT (3.1L V6)

Looks like running these motors is the best maintenence. I have a whoppin 34,000 on my car and my valve seals are shot from sitting so much. The bottom end and heads are stock, but nothing else.

My Camaro had 226,000 when I pulled the orginal motor. It still ran fine, other than a little oile use.
Now my truck, on the other hand, is a '94 C2500 with a 350 TBI. Original motor, tranny, rear and to our knowledge, clutch. I'll just let the picture do the talking. this was taken today...

I only answered this to be helpful. Lets focus on the thread and not turn this into an oil debate.

My camaro had 150 some thousand miles on it when I rebuilt the engine. I would still be fine today just without any piston rings, black smoke every second it was running. Smogged up the whole highway when I floored it. And just last week the tranny went out at 160K. My dad says it went out cause I race it twice a month, if that, not because it had 160 K on it.
A well takin care of thirgen will last a very long time on all original parts but time takes its toll eventually.
