Tune up and still dies need help fast
Ok i went to get my car tuned up cuz of the idle surge plus it needed it anyway. Well the total was about 200 bucks for that and some other crap that needed replaced like plug wires and such. Well the guy told me that to stop the idle surge i would have to replace my IAC he was gonna charge me 150 bucks to do it. So I did it myself. The instructions said to get it to like 13 inch pounds. Isnt that like finger tight? Well lets just say its tight. Would it still do this if the specs werent met? What else could i check for? It might be a vaccuum leak as well. So I might just replace all my hoses leading up to the TBI. Lemme know what ya'll think. Thanks and yes i did search some stuff and tried to fix it.

Have you tried spraying carb cleaner around the vacuum lines and the base of the tb to find out if you have any leaks? Also you might try taking the casper thing off and just hook the tps back up stock.

Those mods are on my wish list and yes I have cleaned it out with carb cleaner. It looks like theres some gunk in the bottom of the TBI when i open up the butterfly valves.

I guess I didn't explain it very well. Take the carb cleaner and with the engine running spray it aroun the base of the tb and around all your vacuum lines. If the engine speeds up or smooths out you know you have a vacuum leek in that aera.

Sorry I didn't catch that the stuff on the bottom of the post was your wish list. I dodn't think the tps enhancer will do to much or what you expect it to do.

the engine wont stay running so hows it gonna smooth out. I have to keep giving it fuel when i spray that stuff or it will die even if it was still running. But i could check the hoses.

Have a friend keep ti running at as slow of a rpm as possible. Don't spray the carb cleaner in the tb but at the outside of the base where the tb gasket is.

does it smoke at all when it does run? are the fuel injector connectors on tightly? if one isnt on good enough or a fuse blew or whatever else and one injector doesnt fire well enough or at all then the engine will run very bad or not at all. my prongs that hold mine on broke off and the one slips off sometimes and it runs like a drunken 4 cyl. id check the fuel injectors out for electrical connections and make sure theyre firing rite. also if its smoking and was otherwise running well before, check the tps to see if its loose cuz if it is it could be running horribly rich or lean depending on how it slipped. i regasketed mine recently and my tps was off a slight bit and smoked everywhere but moved it around until it ran nicely and smoke free. dont really know what else to say.....
