look like the dipstick popped out spraying oil all over the place.

how many miles are on your engine? looks like it might be in need of a rebuild

Yeah that could be anything. Something leaking, excessive blowby causing oil spray.

Your spark plug wires turned yellow from fear?

I have no clue what I am seeing either. All I see are rusty headers and an oil dipstick and what seems to be a chrome valve cover and some yellow accel wires. Explain what blew up.

you are looking at the passenger side header with oil burnt on it, no rust, it has 93,000 miles on it. just did the heads on it and i cant tell if it is the dip stick or what but something whent out on it. sorry thats as good as it gets as far as the pics go, yes it does run and runs pretty dan good except for the oil on everything

Oh, it jsut occured to me that the drainback ports in the head could be plugged up, preventing the oil from draining back down into the crankcase. Could also be a leaky valve cover gasket but it would have to be really bad to spew that much oil.

just for clarification......when somthing blows it usually involves chunks of metal seperating from the engine. You just blew a gasket or somthing. check and make sure your pcv valve and breather aren't clogged

Uh... a hole in the piston will cause the dipstick to pop out and spray oil every where. Broken ring lands from detionation will do it to. I`m thinking 383 will fix it

So it runs good without alot of excessive smoke from the tail pipes, no knocking or ticking noises? Just that oil on the header? What did you bolt the tang on the dip stick to, to hold it down? It is bolted down, right?
