It is very possible but serious overkill for your 305. You may actually lose power. You would need a healthy set of heads and cam to take advantage of it. it is best suited for 350+ CI engines. The first thing you would have to do would be to convert to a complete multiport set-up. That will drive the cost up big time since you are not starting weith TPI and would need every little bit of wiring and such. By them time you get done, you could have a 350 or larger with TBI probably making more power.

Nope. Not at all. Better to stay with what you have because at this point switching what type of fuel injection will not give you any power increase. Fix what needs to be fixed with the motor first. The motor's downfalls are tiny exhaust, horrible heads, horrible cam and restrictive manifold. Fix those first and make something over 170 horsepower and then maybe worry about induction.

Like you, I entered this forum with high hopes for my 305 not knowing any better. At this point and considering the use of my car, the 305 gives me what I need:
- Torquey throttle response
- Decent gas mileage for a V8
- Rumbly exhaust
- Reliability (comes with proper maintenance)

springfield,
Hey I am thinking of doing a fuel injection swap sometime, but I am thinking of switching to the edelbrock pro flo or the holley commander 950. I had a 305 and am currently droping the 350 in. After i save some more money I will upgrade the cam and heads and then go with the aftermarket fuel system. But like everbody else says don't put it on the 305. I mean I probably would switch over on a 305 if i wanted to supercharge it or something just for ease.
Just my 2 cents
Bill
