EGR Setup

Ok I bought the EGR Valve. Same one that was on there just new and from neehoff or something like that. Its a direct OEM replacement.

My question is this. The previous owner went plug happy and route tubes everywhere. Does anyone on here have a clean pic of where all these tubes are supposed to go.

Here are some pics of the setup. I marked the areas where there are plugs. Also on one pic you will notice a tube that comes out of the Throttle body and goes back in...is that supposed to be there. Well hopefully someone can make sense of this...I hate that damn orage SES light.

The vacuum hose that is looping on the front of the TBI-the left port is supposed to go to a electronic valve that is controlled by the ECM then another tube comes off the valve and goes to the EGR Valve. The Electronic Valve should have a electric connector with a pink and a white wire.
Pretty sure the one with the filter goes to the cruise control.
The other one on the front may have gone to the smog pump?
Not to sure about that because I have taken the smog pump off my engine also. -Rod-

any one have a hooked up system that you could snap a couple shots of and post? I should mention that in the pic where you can see that hose by the oil dip stick..when I unplugged that, that line was under preasure. It started blowing air so whatever that line is for its preasurized.

the two in front are for thermac, and the vapor can.

EGR should get its vacume from the back of the TBI unit, also in the back is the MAP.

It has been too long since i had everything on the manifold hooked up right. let me see if i can find some old pics though.

That would be great. Both me and my neighboor are lost on this one. The haynes manual contains no info on this topic and I really don't want to have to bring this car into a mechanic cuz the last time I did that I got the car back and was no longer able to open the hood properly.

Well, did you get it all figured out yet? If not, I can snap a few pics and post them here of my factory setup.
Looks like your EGR solenoid is missing. You should get that to make everything work correctly.

Sorry for the late reply. I figured out why I can't install the valve....

I am mising the Solenoid. I found the pink and white wire though...just nothing attached to it. No wonder why the SES light keeps coming on.

Gonna go out tonight and get a new solenoid. BTW thanks for that diagram...I just realized I am also missing my canister .

Just wondering though, my cars exhaust smells real rich of gas, by installing this EGR system, will it rid my car of that smell?

Well I went to Canadian tire and returned the valve I ordered as my current valve was tested and it was ok. I tried to order a solenoid and they had no clue what I was talking about. I even brought in that picture of the Emissions diagram and showed them and they had no clue what I wanted. So I guess I am on my own for this one. I am gonna try a few shops to get one if I can't find one I may have to seek other needs.

Where would be a good place to order one online if these local stores fail me?
