Help! Car won't idle

You are going to have to refresh me on the state of tune of your car along with how many miles are on it. Also, what have you outruled from the time you had this problem.

Okay I was a little confused on that one. I had the small wire that went to the positive terminal disconnected, not the main one.
But yeah, I recently cleaned the terminals and everthing with a dremal tool using the wire brush attachment. They are very clean.
I just don't understand why the power cuts out when I try and start it, then it randomly comes back on by itself.

Well I don't know why the timing would be off. Like I said after I put the distributor back in place the car ran fine. It wasn't until about a month later until I started having problems. But I will check it.
So you don't think these two problems are related?
