Cross Fire Injection

Hey guys,

I've created a YahooGroups CROSS FIRE INJECTION e-mail list if anyone is interested in joining.

I know that there isn't a 3rd gen Cross-Fire-Injection forum, so I figured I would create a Yahoogroups forum.

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/CrossFireInjection/

Thanks,

You know what? I created that before I actually found this site. It goes down on occasion (I think it runs off of a DSL line).

But you can go to this site:

http://www.crossfire.homeip.net

It's a pretty decent web site.. and lots of users on it. It's all about Cross Fire Injection.

I actually USED to have an 82 TransAm that was an original CFI motor, but someone had more or less converted it into an LG4 with the LU5 cam...

I do have a massive hoard of CFI parts for 3rd gens that I've been building up in my garage. I'm not sure why... I just hate to see these rare pieces end up in the junkyard, so any time I see a CFI setup in the junkyard, I pull the entire setup. Cowl Induction, everything...

I am considering installing CFI into my 81 TransAm which is a 2nd gen TransAm.

i don't know why your's won't run in the cold, my runs fine, takes 10 seconds to start up but the rest is A O K. the only problem i had, which hasn't happened for a looong time, is it stalling, but that was only twice and right after it got out of storage for a few years. nothing a little sea foam won't fix

A website for cross-fire cars sounds sweet. Would love to talk to more people who own and love working on these cars. I have a 83 Z28 CFI, and I am in the process of converting it to a 84 Vette CFI setup.

i don't know if i would convert it to a vette set up, crossfires are becoming rare and i think they'll be collector cars very soon. i'd try and keep it original. i also have an 83 crossfire, but it needs some TLC. i think i might start a proboards site for crossfire engines of all sort, i'll post something soon maybe letting you know where its at. look for a post from me saying i got a board up.

Yeah... I'd be willing to get rid of some of my Cross Fire stuff...

Let me know when / what you need and I'll see if I have it.

While I do think CFI cars will be RARE... I don't think they'll ever be valuable. So unless you're considering keeping the car stock so that future generations can see an original CFI car in a museum... it otherwise likely won't be worth anything.

I suspect though, in 50 years, the car might have a bit more value than a base or regular Camaro Z28.

Value is determined by demand... and unfortunately, the vast majority of people don't LIKE Cross Fire Injected cars.

Therefore, no matter how rare it is, it won't have much value.

Take my 87 SE Fieros for example. They only made 1,407 V6, 1987 Fiero SEs. They made less than 500 of those with a manual transmission.

The 87 Fiero SE is the lowest production Fiero ever made... it's even a lower production number than the 1984 Fiero Indy Pace car... (of which they made 2,000).

However, while the car might be worth more than an 86 Fiero SE because it has the revised wiring, headlights, and interior appointments, it's still worth less than a 1987 Fiero GT of which they made in the range of 10 thousand.

There is nothing wrong with converting my car to a Vette setup. Stock these cars are very slow, even the stock Vettes are slow, but there is much more support for Vette CFI parts than Camaro stuff. There is so much you can do to a Vette CFI to make it faster, and that is my plan for this car. As long as it's kept CFI I don't think I am hurting the value, and I also agree these cars are in low demand and not worth that much and never will be.

About the other Cross-Fire boards and website, yes I know about it, and I post there often and they are a very helpful group of people.

82-T/A [Work], do you by chance have any literature on these cars, (sales brochures, etc.) that you would be willing to sell? Also, have any hood parts, such as the flappers, or wireing harness for the flappers, silinoid for the flappers, etc? Oh, how about the air cleaner hood and assembly, etc? Thanks for the info and help.
