Runing extremely rich. what's the usual suspect?
Note: I tried a search but TGO's very slow today, thought this would be faster.

o2 sensor, and CTS. possibly MAP, but not likely, unless it has somehow lost vacume.

Timing too retarded causing low vacuum. Leaking fuel pressure regulator diaphram. Bad injector. Orings that seal the injector to the injector pod.

I have so much carbon deposit that I get knock with 91 octane, 87 is out of the question. I tried the water trick last summer to get some of the carbon out, but I don't think I did enough, now when I run the car cold (I don't run it too often due to it being winter) the TB whistles real loud until it's warm.
to the comment about timing being too retarded, I thought if it was too advanced it would cause a rich condition?

TBI whistling is another sure sign of retarded timing. Retarded timing makes the engine put out less power, lowering vacuum, richening the fuel mixture. I guess advanced timing could do it but you would hear the engine pinging and the idle would be really rough.

dude thats what mine does!!
I think theres a vacum leak at the back of the intake manifold on mine. Thats where the noise comes from.
Whats your timing set at?
Have you used a hose to listen around the TBI unit for leaks?
My timing is advanced 6* and I run high octane.
have you checked all the hoses connected to the TBI?

No the hissing noise is coming from your IAC valve more than likely. If you were to pull off the air cleaner and stick your finger over the port on the rear passenger side of the TBI it would probably stall.
