!Throttle cable & 1" spacer boggle!

Hi all! I recently installed a one inch TBI spacer and found out that the throttle cable would no longer reach the TBI. I then noticed that the cruise control cable mount hole was almost the same as the mount for the throttle cable and that I could ditch the cuise control cable and put the throttle cable in its place. The new location raised the throttle cable high enough to fit again and pulls the blades to WOT and pedal motion is smooth. I would just like to see if anyone knows of a common solution to the cable length problem or has any comments about my quick fix method.

The fix is to not run a 1 inch spacer. They'll do more harm than good.

If the geometry and tension on the tv cable for the trans are not the same as stock you'll burn out the transmission.

what about those with a manual trans? some people say there is a benefit of the spacer, others say its worthless, is there any dyno proof to support either? i would like to know b/c i am considering this mod as an option

They are not worth it. They increase your penum volume a hair but they cause mroe harm then good. I had a T5 and run a 1/2" spacer. I can barely get everything hooked back up. I had to strech the cables to their max as well as mount the throttle bracket as far forward as I can. I would only use a spacer as a tuning/play tool at the dragstrip if you are trying to tweak a certian intake/cam combo.

Some one needs to shed some more light on the TV cable thing cause I have a 1in spacer and all my cables are fine.I've hear of trannies burning out because teh cable isn't adjusted property but what is adjusted properly. I have mine adjusted to how I want the tranny to shift. Is there a preset?

That's the problem, you don't adjust it to how you want it to shift. There is only one way to set the tv cable.
