My tach is way off, it idles at 1500RPM and I believe it is around 2000RPM higher when driving than it should be. Just to make sure, until I get my autogage installed, what RPM are you T-5 guys running when cruising in 5th at 75MPH??? Mine says I'm doing 4,500RPM which I think is probably 2,000 off...what is it???

 

depends on what your rear end gears are. i have 3.42, at 75 im doin 2 grand in 5th

 

I have the stock 3.08 open gears.

 

If you're 5th gear ratio is .75 (my guess) you're spinning at 2238rpms

If you're .63 (also possible) you're sitting at 1880 rpms.

this is also assuming you're running 215/65/r15's

Here's all the specs to clear up any confusion:

1992 Camaro RS L03 T-5 with stock 3.08 open gears, and running on stock 16x8 rims wrapped in 245/50/16 Sumitomo HTR+ tires.

So what RPM should I be running at?

 

A few RPM off of 1750

 

i have the same problem with mine, when im cruisn in 5th it sais im doin like 4,500 rpms how do i fix this

 

Get a new tach.
