While I have the throttle body out....
What should I clean, inspect, replace, etc... I've only had this vehicle for a few months, so I have to assume that the throttle body has not ever been serviced. A little advice on how to remove/clean specific parts would help a lot since I'm new to fuel injection.

While you have it out I would do all of this: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...matetbi2.shtml
It would save time later when you'll want to do those mods.

Check the vaccum lines for cracks,dry-rot,and such. Same with the eletrical wiring.
Check out The sticky... one that says New to TBI It should keep you busy or at least give you some pointers on what you can and can't do or might want to do.

Fuel injector spacer is something to consider. But you can order one and put it on later after you reinstalled the TB to your car. Just gotta be careful with the screws not to drop them. E-Bay is good spot to purchase one for decent price.
I learned most of my stuff just from reading the stickies. Well worth your time IMO.
Good luck!

Check all the vacuum passages to make sure they are clear. It is very common for these to plug up (especially the PCV) on high mileage cars and it will give you all kinds of tuning fits.
Wow, this web site has a TON of good information! Until now I had only checked out this forum. Thanks for the links. I'll plan on just cleaning all of the parts and passages on the TBI and adjusting the TPS and IAC and checking the hoses and wires. I have a spare TBI that I might try to modify following oifish's advice. Thanks again for the advice!
