Dead Fuel Pump
For those wondering, an external fuel pump will pull fuel out of the tank, through a dead in-tank pump. Mine died, I yanked the pump from a Dodge Conquest, put it inline under the hood, jumped hot-in-run juice to it from the coolant fan relay, and she runs good as ever.

might work well now but I believe the pumps are more designed to PUSH rather then PULL. Where is the Factory location of the pump on the conquest?

Yeah that is pretty common man. A lot of people who convert to a carb at least in my expierence and friends expierences we just put an external pump next to the tank and pull through the old pumps. I think that is also what the guys with the large turbo engines do. Anyhow, right on with getting your car running. That is a good feeling always.

As for the fuel pressure regulator that is on the TBI and I seriouly doubt that he bypassed that. I don't know if you can. I am sure that he is running the same pressure as before.

Yes, I did not bypass the fuel pressure reg. The pressure is close to normal - I had 13psi at idle before, and now I have 11, so I suppose the external pump isn't doing AS good a job, but it got her home, and will get her around until I can get a better fix.
The only other thing I notice, is that I have to leave the key to ON for a few seconds before I start it, or it won't start - takes the external pump longer to get the fuel into the TBI I suppose.
But again, it got me home, and it runs as well as before.
