What do you guys think?

Is it possible for a TBI to contend with an SS class engine? I know it sounds like , but is it possible? I have the means to do this project but I need to know if its possible. Please let me know.

There are a couple of guys in the low 13's and one or two in the 12's......so yeah they can contend LS1. Don't expect the same gas milage or drivability as an LS1 though.

with an SS class engine?
Which SS engine are you talking about?

My mind went straight to the LS1 engines in the 98-02 Camaro SS just like BMmonteSS, but their have been a lot of SS cars with a lot of different engines.

you would end up putting enough money in your car that you could of just went out and got a 4th gen with a ls1 and still be quicker, maybe cheaper that way to.

im with rebel, either buy a 4th with ls1, or buy the ls1-t56 combo and put that in your 3rd gen

I recently got my hands on an LS1 not too long ago, and it's completely bone stock. I raced some guy from around town on the street (light to light), who, afterward, gladly raised his RS' hood, revealing a nicely done 305 TBI. He beat me by about a car length....

I'd imagine if he had a worked 350, with chip work of course, I'd be toast. That is, at least until the T-Rex cam, and Torque Converter are both installed...

I know from quite a bit of 1/4 mile racing and off thine crap that my little 305 TBI can move quite nicely. I've taken a lot of ls1's and even lt1's off the line...

to compare mid to high rpm running though, my little TBI305 gets spanked....

since I own both an ls1 and 305tbi, I can tell you for a fact that my ls1 has little to no torque under 1500 rpm, and much less torque than my 305 from 1500-2200...

my tbi just got a nicer stall this year too that would probably give me the 1.8 60 ft I've been looking for and the 14's I think my peanut cam car is capable of.

get a 4th gen, good cost effective way for an almost guaranteed 300HP and 13 sec timeslip.
