Yes you can. You will need to wallow/slot the four center bolts holes on the intake and everything should bolt right up.

I have an Edelbrock intake on my pre-87 heads. But I did it a bit different approach. The plenum on the Edelbrock is too wide to allow the center bolts to go in at the proper angle. So we took lenths of screws all and heated them up and bent them at the proper angle so they come out of the four center bolt holes and then bend straight up. Then the intake sat right down on top of it and we bolted it in place.
I have to give credit where credit is due. That was the idea of my buddy James (90_WS6_Formula).
That was about 2yrs ago and still running with never a leak.
By the way, I would not advise doing the heating with the screws all in the head. You just might start an oil fire with that intake manifold off.

Yeah, doing stuff like that pretty much drives me crazy. Unfortunately it was the only option at the time.
Burce,
I forgot you took pictures. Do you have anymore?
And I guess it was only a little more than a year ago. I was wrong on that two years.

I do, and the reason I never really posted them is the stupid photo guys didn't put all the pics on a CD, just mainly all 35mm. I took a picture of the picture to get that last one on there
