fuel issues?

ok, i have a 91 305 tbi rs camaro. it idles fine, but it doesn't seem to be getting enough fuel. i can rev it to redline, but i have to do it really slow. if i try to throttle up normally it wants to die and sometimes does. mechanically, i think i've been all through the fuel system, of course there could be something i missed. the injectors are spraying fuel at idle, but the spray doesn't increase when throttled up. it revs up real good if i'm spraying a little carb cleaner while i rev it. it seems like a computer problem, like something won't let it spray more fuel. i've changed the throttle position sensor. the computer in the car is not the original, but it is for a 305 rs car. what in the system tells the computer how much fuel to allow? i need help. i could take it somewhere, but i wanna work on it myself. the car is a project car.

two words......fuel pump

These cars are known for weak pumps, if you have more than 50k on the car, then 9 times out of 10 that's your problem. If you want to check it before you buy a new pump and go through the hassle of pulling the tank to replace it then get a fuel pressure guage and see if your pressure is dropping when you rev it.

already changed the fuel pump, filter, and the fuel pressure regulator. map sensor has been checked as well. what else tells the computer about the fuel?

Don't go replacing parts until you do a little more detective work. Throwing new parts doesn’t solve the problem. What is the condition of your ignition components? Are your plug wires routed correctly? Are they damaged or cracked? Are your plugs fouled or gapped incorrectly? How old is your O2? Is your air filter and or cat clogged? These are just a few of many things that can cause your car to run in the manor you describe. All of these items can be ruled out without spending any money. I would grab a volt meter ($20) and follow a few standard ignition test procedures to check out the entire system.

the distributor and module are the same, the rest of the ignition parts you named have been changed. i haven't checked the o2 sensors or the cat , but i'll add them to my list. a buddy of mine has a few computers lying around, so it won't cost me anything to try them out.
