Awesome new mod for my 305 TBI!!! must read!!

Just last night i stumbled upon one of the greatest modifications in the history of automobiles! What is it you ask, some kind of new turbo, or performance booster? No, even better, I now have a "custom" non-working headlight activation switch!! The broken pull **** allows me the fabulous luxury of having my headlights be on ALL THE TIME!! The new "system" doubles as a security asset, because now whenever i park my car, i must disconnect the battery, to avoid it's being drained. This comes in really handy when I run out to do any type of errand, or go to work. Anyone looking to turn the job of starting their car into a 5 minute chore must do this mod as soon as possible. thank you for your time.

p.s. anyone know which fuse controls the headights, the haynes service manual is none to clear? i'll be blowing up my car now...

I messed around with the wiring for my fog lights. Now that was a bitch. Trying to find the right wires was really hard. Only cause the wiring diagram from the haynes manual looked like some of my first electronic projects (basic and not very clear). I went to a pontiac dealer to get a proper diagram, and they tell me they dont carry any service manuals for cars 10 years and older, so they couldn't help me. In the end I finally found a guy at the dealer will ing to dig through some old manuals in the back to find me a 1988 manual on the trans am, which helped me out considerably.

Maybe you could install a stwitch in your car that disables the battery. At least its quicker that having to get out and mess around under the hood.

And on a car that is only 10 years old. They didn't make them like they used to.

Hey if it makes ya feel any better, on my old ford taurus a fusuable link was melted which cause my alternator and my fan both not to work , so not only did my car overheat on my way to work, i also had to take the battery out every night take it into the garage, charge it and put it back in come morning. 5:00 in the morning having to carry the battery outside and hook it up again is not fun.

Hehe, I know someone who rewired everything in his car so all the switches would do something different. When you hit the horn button, the windshield washer system activated and just the opposite, one of the power window switches activated the starter ( the key was still needed) I don't know how the window worked, and there was a few other things. It was his winter beater, he like to let people barrow it for ****s and giggles.

You can remove the parking light fuse, which will say something like "TAIL" in the fuse panel. But the headlights are protected by a circuit breaker inside the headlight switch; there's no fuse.

Why not just fix it right? It'll save you so much hassle in the long run. Plus, I'd imagine that running with the lights on during the day would attract undue attention to your car when you're speeding or whatever.

I do intend to fix it, but i've been busy as hell all week, so i've had to deal with this annoyance. It's really quite funny.

i feel like such a dork with the headlights on during the day.

the extra funny part is that the instrument panel can still be dimmed by turning the busted ****...what a pos!
