Lets see if I can be and more specific...Aluminum...

I'd get an intake for a four barrel and then use an adapter. Beware that your center-bolt heads have different intake bolt angles than the pre-87 heads. It's reportedly a pretty easy fix, or you can just get an intake with the post-87 intake bolt angles.

Edlbrock Performer TBI.
everything will bolt right up, no muss, no fuss. it costs a bit more but you won't need any adaptors to mate up your tbi, sensors, or any of the other stuff that is mounted to the manifold.
it has worked great for me, that's why i recomend it.

So now what? I just found the Edelbrock intake for TBI, and it says it only fits up to 1986. I got a 1992, so this wouldn't fit my car would it? How much is this badboy gonna cost? Also, is it going to help?
Thanks

The Edelbrock intake for TBI cars is #3704. It fits 87+ cars. Check their website at http://www.edelbrock.com/

The problem with it is, it only supports the regular TBI, not the 454 2" TBI.

my unit is not completely "ported" really. i took it to a machine shop and had the top of it planed flat. then i traced around a tower gasket on the mounting surface and rounded the top to flow smoothly into the bores any place it wouldn't interfere with the tower mounting. i also took the wire loom and rubber thingy off of the injector wires and ran them up from the back of the tb where they wouldn't block as much air flow.
so it's not really "ported", i just couldn't think of any other way to refer to it.

I got a perfomer intake, but didn't like the way the TBI unit worked with it. I swapped to a carb. According to Edelbrock the performer for carbs just won't flow as well as the performer specifically for the tbi. The part number I got was 2104. Bolted right in, only one mod the water port for the temp sensor.

I checked with my local machine shop and to bore the manifold to 2" and drill and tap
the hole for the Air cond support bracket they want $30. So add that to the price and it ain't cheap!! I haven't figured out what to do yet either but the low 14 times posted above sure look good to me......bob

Hey guys don't forget to take notice that NJ Speeder also has Performer Heads.
The intake alone will not get you into the 14's. I have the Edelbrock tbi intake and it cut my 1/4mile times .27sec and I gained 3.1mph in the trap. Hope this helps yah out!

Ok, this is for NJ SPEEDER,

I looked at your extensive list of mods and you've done a buttload of stuff to your TBI and my curiousity got the better of me...

How much did all that cost ya?
What kind of mileage do you get??
And either you know somebody who can get you an inspection sticker or you don't use that RS for anything but the strip (but why the SS wheels, then? :-).
I know NJ inspection is TIGHT now and there's no way that car is passing, especially without the cat which you're required to have.

So I'm just curious as to what your story is...
