Yeah, somewhere close to everyone maybe. But I don't know. If I could get a trailer or somethin for the car I would maybe go. But I would have to be guarenteed it isn't just like 6-7 cars. Try to make a big one.

there is an f-body gathering every year that a couple of my buds have gone to. i think it is in memphis. the best i could probly organize on my own would be something regional for the first try. maybe at englishtown, maple grove, or mir. i know each track can be rented or have lanes reserved.if we can build this into something maybe we can make it bigger for '02.
i can get some corporate support too. i happen to know people at a few of the area speed shops and stuff. maybe we can hook this up.
is anyone willing to help me?

I am about an 1 hour 1/2 drive from Detroit. If I were u, I would go onto fbody.com and go to owners list and copy all the e-mail address that have thirdgens and e-mail them. Also, if u would want some more sponsers try giving SLP a call. I heard they love sponsering this kind of stuff. Hope this turns out big.

chevyland usa is there. outside of northplatte. and then there is omaha. I mean, omaha has. well, ok, council bluffs across the river has riverboat casinos!!!

But Colorado is fine, i lived there last year. and my dad is out there. where in CO. would say at the pepsi center, big parking lot. lots to do downtown.

 

i need some ideas of what tracks are in the areas that you guys are talking about. i would want to work with an nhra affiliated quarter mile if there are any in the area. i know colorado has a few tracks. i would want to work with a safe and up to date facility that some of you guys have visited before. that way we can all have some idea of what to expect.

How about unofficially sharing with the Trans Am nationals (Aug, Dayton OH), Pontiac usually drags out a few show cars, and the swap meet has had some great stuff.
Generally more 3rd gen stuff then anything.

 

It might be more practical to have two separate meets. One on the East and one on the West. Or North - South, whatever. Reason being If you put it too far out of peoples reach they just won't show. I'd rather see half the guys on my side of the states than none at all. To be honest I'm not going to make a trek way up Nort' just to see you guys, just isn't gonna happen. I know we can't accomodate everyone, just an opinion.

 

i think this is gonna hafta turn out much like what simon says(sorry i couldn't resist ) this is the first time i have ever tried to do anything like this.
so i am gonna make it an open gathering for all f-body owners everywhere who want to attend. it seems there are a lot of little niche type gatherings all over the place, but nothing that would bring us all together.
i would like to attempt to plan a big gathering out here in the east and try to make it grow.
i am gonna try to get it organized as an all day saturday type of an event. i am gonna try to shop the idea around to find a host area club and some sponsors. i will also need to know what types of activities would interest you guys the most. i am thinking drag racing, manufacturers midway, maybe a dyno with a good price, a show and shine area, and an autocross. let me knoiw what of these you guys want the most and anything else you would want to see.
i am also gonna need some sponsor ideas and some people who can work with me to get this off the ground in good order. anyone in the greater trenton nj area is welcome to help.

This is the start of something good. I'm very interested at this point. We'll have to find a location in the middle of the East Coast with all of the ammenities available to make this a nice trip. I guess at this point it would be good to start taking suggs. from everyone interested on possible good locations. Preferrably individuals who have solid contacts.

As for the many other enthusiasts who are scattered abroad the US and even Canada, it would probably be a good idea to set something up regionally. In the future it may be possible to merge into one large gathering if all goes well.

 

I am allll about this!! Plus I got too buddies that are game too. I am with the spring idea NJ...A) it is nice B) There is no freakin Snow C) I am home from college.

 

I think the gathering would be much better located in Michigan. It was worth a shot.

ok kids, here's the story. i am taking the lead on trying to plan this thing along with BlackBird305. i am making initial contact with several facilities to find out what the story is gonna be on getting a venue to use on a weekend day.
what i need from you guys is to start selling the idea of a major gathering in the mid to late summer, mid july to mid aug, on th e east coast on the other boards that you post on. just ask to see how many people are interested, don't make any commitments. as you get feedback on what people would like to see and how many people plan to attend let me know. i need approximate numbers of interested parties, just saying "mad heads will attend" doesn't help to set prices or attrack prise sponsors. remember, the more people we can get to commit to attending the cheaper it will be for everyone involved.
any solid details will be given out here first since this is where it started.

i think a gathering in oklahoma would be a good place like tulsa or something. im pretty sure there is a track there and we could meet there on a satursay afternoon and eat lunch then go race that night then stay the night rent out a hotel drink some brew then leave in the morning. this would be a good way for everyone in the texas oklahoma nebraska new mexico louisianna region to meet. but if ya'll disagree then it was just a thought.

 

My vote is for Colorado. I can get us CHEAP a$$ hotel rooms (my wife manages the largest LaQuinta Inns & Suites here) plenty to do, lots of fine wimmen, and we have Bandimere Speedway, a track so damn high, you'll nosebleed thru the traps. Let me know and I'll help coordinate.
