Hey

Could someone post a pic of an open element

air filter fully assembled. I just got a 91

camaro RS "305!!!" WOW but i would like to
see a picture if anyone has one. I am
thinking of doing this modd. And does it
change the sound of the car in any way.

Yes it will change the sound...I just installed a k&n open element this week on my 91RS and over 2500 rpm's it sounds so much better. Just sounds so right.

i was thinking the same thing. then thought, well it does introduce some cold air into the engine compartment. mac? that why?

91Bird305, I noticed that is a K&N on yours to you remeber the part numbers can you tell me them if so. Thank you.

Neo, mine is the 14x2.25. I would have had hood clearence problems if I would have gotten the 14x3 with my stock hood because of this 1" spacer I have in there now. But I have purchased a 3" K&N element recently cause with the new hood, I can fit a 3" in there now. But if u want the 14x2.25" K&N open element assemby the part number is.

KNN-601263

The 14x3 K&N open element part number.
KNN-601280 but it is a Drop Base-lowers cleaner 1 1/4 below the carb flange so I don't know.
