can't get closed loop
i just put a my 383 back in the truck after putting new pistons in, and i'm having trouble with the computer stuff now.
it starts and runs real good, i mean i haven't touched the power yet cuz i don't really know what the fuel is doing.
it just tells me that the BLM is 128. and i'm pretty sure that not the case across the board. i'm thinking it could be O2 sensor related perhaps, but i'm just gonna ask you guys what else it could be. tomorrow i'm gonna be fixing exhaust leaks an other quick stuff, and i'm hoping its a simple fix.
so thanks for any leads.

Josh,
Is the O2 sensor ever reading over 700 mv or so? If not your running too lean at idle. I have had my engine run so lean at idle that the ECM would never see that the 02 was ready and would not enable closed loop.
NO KNOCKS?
Chris

My Goodwrench engine is still ticking at idle. I have run it over 6,000+ RPM many times though, still holding togather. No metal in the oil or on the magnetic drain plug. No metal in the filters I have cut open.
I raced an 07 Altima with the 270HP 3.5 V6 a couple of days ago in my G20. Took him to 70+ MPH where I let off.

Is the closed loop flag and BLM update flag checked when this happens?

ya same cam, etc. no other changes other than porting and speed pros versus the keith blacks that were in there.

thats not good, but i would assume it is sensor safe. it is the same **** we build all our engines with at the shop.

Just a possible one.
Coolant Temperature Sensor reading correctly?
All your grounds secured properly and have clean connections. IIRC you painted your engine. Paint is an excellent insulator.

um........so .......i think i just got it.
i'm embarrassed to say that the damn sensor was not even plugged to the computer......ugh i feel SO dumb but at least it was simple. and i only drove like 15 miles...so i'm sure it'll be fine.

i guess i just got sick of hooking up sensors or something. i'm so sick of working on the engine now, it will be nice to just tune it.

I am on 700r4/4L60E # 5 or something like that. 3 in the past 3 months. I am not burning them up, rather breaking hard parts. Shreading planetary gears and breaking drive shells.
