i know ill get flamed for this, but i think your best option would be to keep the whole TPI setup, wiring harness, and everything else and just use it like that. You wont have to make any computer mods or anything, just drop in the 350 and drive away.

However if you do decide to keep TBI you can seel that TPI set up for an awful lot of money and that will be the necessary funds to buy a 454 TBI or a holley 670. Either way is a good way to go. Good Luck

If I were you I'd put the whole thing in and see how I liked it. Then I'd get a single plane holley EFi intake for $255 and swap the TPI with it. Maybe I'd hollow out the bottom of the TPI plenum and try to bolt it to the top of the efi intake.

I'd keep the TPI myself. Only problem is the cost of extra hp. It does get pretty expensive if you go ALL out. Other than that it's a great system, more up to date but more complicated than TBI. If you don't feel like doing the swap then you could just sell the TPI like sugested and you'll then be able to part the whole car out and have PLENTY extra to do a good build up. Heck, it was worth the $800 just for the TPI and rear end. Good job on the deal.

why you tell him to stick with TPI on a 350?? You know how expensive that will be to mod? $350 for new base, $300 for runners, $200 for injectors, $300 for TB...

are you planning to do a full build up to this motor or do you just want to get it in and pick up displacement power?
if you want to build it i would say get some nice new pistons that will put it between 10.5-11.0 to 1 compression. get some good heads and that intake will work great. a nice cam that will spin up to 6k-6.5k real easy would work, maybe a zz4 or a nice comp extreme roller grind would be sweet.
just take your time to piece it together right.
you'll need to find a 454 or holley670 tb and some big injectors to handle that set up though. also a new fuel pump would prolly be in order, holley makes a drop in jobber that should support it very nicely.
and if you want to part any of that stuff out email me. i can see a few things i would like

I have a question. Why don't u think TPI will be a good setup? And why do u think TBI will be any better then TPI? Maybe you should take this over to the TPI board first to reasearch your setup and see what they have to say. Then come back here when u want to swap to TBI (which I don't think you will be doing after you get info on your TPI)

mild cam, then just use the 305 HEADS!!

ive heard a lot of people are doing this lately, (hotrod magazine). the combo of 350 and 305 heads gives about a 12.5:1 compression i guess, and some nice power.

im really just spewing out what a friend of mine told me. he wanted me to swap his heads for my stock ones. i said, sorry, i gotta drive it everyday.

nooooooo 12.5:1 is WAY TOO MUCH COMPRESSION!!!!! the ZR-1 was 11:1 and that was DOHC and all aluminum. 10.somethinglow:1 is max for iron heads. like 10.2:1 or something.
