trying to hit 200-225

i have a 305 in my 90 rs that you guys say is rated at about 165hp. my question is with a stock long block, is it possible to hit 200-225hp. i know a lot of you guys will tell me not to waste my time, and i probably won't if it's going to be to difficult. so if anyone on here can help me out that would be great!

I would first upgrade to headers and dual exhaust with hi-flowing cats.

Crank horsepower or wheel?

Crank, Full exhaust, intake, ultimate TBI, LT1/4 cam and tuning should get you there without a problem.

Wheel is going to require heads/cam/intake/tuning to get you there.

or do it the even easier way and throw a small shot of nitrous on it. a 50-75 shot should do the trick for what youre looking for. anymore you can up it to 100-125 easily no sweat the motor will take it. mines been taking more than that for a long time so yea cheap, easy to install, and you get to keep your already shitty gas mileage

Isn't there a speed limiter in the ECM program?
I thought the TBIs are speed limited to about 108.

My 88 goes up to 112 and won't go faster.

The numbers in the post are horsepower.

The limit is set on the chip. Program your own limit or buy a 240mph limitted one from tbichips.com

my 91 305 tbi was limited at 115, all stock, it would slowy, very slowly pull to 115 then id feel the engine almost die i think the computer pulls fuel or spark

on my 88 tbi wasnt limited i've pegged the speedo many times with the stock chip, but now i have a stage 2 chip from tbichips. com it helped a little on top, maybe 10 realistic horspower, not the 20 they claimed but still a noticible improvement

I wasn't very attentive when I read this. I totally misread it. I thought I read about reaching 120 to 150 MPH..

Even if the post was about MPH, I'm sure he isn't stuck at 110.

If I had read it correctly I wouldn't have had input.
