It's on hold for a while, brother. I got boned by a local shop a while back that efffed around for six weeks instead of installing my 383. So now I'm sitting on a bunch of parts and an engineless and transmissionless TA. The biggie for you is going to be getting the computer to work. If you go with a Haltech you should be okay because it has four seperate injector drivers. Anything else and you're probably looking at getting some auxiliary drivers to work with the stock ECM. Then you're spending time learning how to burn/modify your own PROMs. You would probably be okay for a good while using a 454 TBI and custom chip until you/I get the "duallie" working... That's what I'm running until I get a handle on the programming of the Haltech. Once I'm fairly sure I'm not going to blow up my new $4000 engine I'll revisit the dual TBI issue.

I was under the assumption that the 7747 ECU could drive 4 GM TBI injectors. I know it's apples to oranges, but the Edelbrock MPFI Conversion kit for trucks makes the 7747 ECU drive 8 injectors. They are low-impedance, I believe, but there still are 8 injectors.

I also heard there were several guys doing this sucessfully??? wasup?

Hey guys, I know this isn't a cheap solution but it is the cheapest and probably the easiest ecm to tune, it,s windows based, and will accomodate four injectors or eight injectors with there auxiliary driver kit. Check it out here. The Holley950Commander.http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...I/534-120.html
I hope this helps some. I'm thinking with my setup I may have to use it also.

I just thought this would be an easy way to tune on the run. Is it posible to keep the cruise control without using the stock ecm to control engine functions?

I'll eventually run twin Holley 670 TBI's. However (and it's a big however), that is after I get comfortable programming my Haltech and am sure I'm not going to blow it up. The only hang up is whether or not the Haltech can drive four injectors. I should be able to control two IAC's by halving the amount in the maps, and splicing the two together. I only need one of the TPS's for it's signal; the other set of throttle plates is controlled by dual quad linkage. I may just save this entire mod until I get the twin turbo's installed as it may be a bit much for my NA 385.

Got this Edelbrock Dual Quad manifold for $80 off of ebay, hogged it out, made a "spacer board" to bolt it up and voila! Dual TBI.

Fastbroker: Remember, those 670's are 670 cfm at 3", not 1.5" like carbs. You are right about the TBI computer and 4 injectors. I'm running this setup myself with my holley 4bbl. The injectors get wired in two sets of two series circuts for the TBI style injectors... 2 sets of 4 in parallel for multi point setups.

Dan W, Are you running the 7747 ecm with 4 tbi injectors? I have been looking in to this for my engine. I would like to know if it is doable or not with the 7747 ecm.

Yes I am and yes you can.

You didnt ask but for applications under 400hp, a 454 TBI unit would be a better choice.

If I remember right, Turbo city uses 1 IAC for both TBIs.
