Has anybody here ever stroked a 305?

What kind of performance and mileage did you get out of it? Was it worth it? Should I do it or just get a 350 or something?

From what I understand more stroke means more torque. The 350 has more HP because it has a much bigger bore. You would be adding more torque to your engine. It would be interesting if somone did that, but it is more practical to take a 350 and stroke it out to 383 cubic inches. In a new issue of a magazine they stroked it out to 391 cubes surprisingly simply. I am sorry I do not remember the name of the mag.

STOP THE DREAMING WE ALL KNOW YOU ARENT GOING TO DO ANY OF THIS AND JUST CUZ YOU POST IT DOESNT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU HAVE DONE IT or are planning to, SORRY

I haven't seen a post asking for a stroked 305 in a while actually. a 305 bored .030" over with a 400cid crank comes out to 335. I don't think its worth it but if you have a low mile 305 and some time of your hands, it might not be a bad idea, but to pay to have a 305 rebuilt and stroked is a waste of money.

PABLO: I'm just exploring the possibilities. I know my sig says 350 or turbo 6 swap, but before I go and swap a whole engine out, shouldn't I look into building up what I already have? I mean, come on, it's my car and I can do anything to it I want. And how do you know I'm not going to do any of this stuff? I am, you everybody here is going to know about it too, you being the first. SO go say what you want to say but it really doesn't bother me and it isn't going to keep me from building the best Camaro that can be built. And you aren't a moderator either now are you? I wonder why......

Hey Pablo, I changed my sig just for you. Are you happy now?
Back to the subject, our little TBI305's only have what, 255ft.lbs. right? Stroking it would bring it to a little over 300 I would think. And with the increased torque, horsepower would jump a little too. I just want to explore the potential of my engine before I go for the swap.

Im not a moderator anymore because I quit.. the level of gayity to use the term coined by Drew was such that it was impossible to successfully moderate the board full time and not have everyone jump down my throat after i deleted their dumb posts
there is plenty of info out there to learn about what you want get some more specific questions ready and then ask them on the board what you want arej ust totally general broad based bench race style answers and its a waste of space and time. I liken it to what your typical high school kid does at lunch time with his buddies "OOh wouldnt it be neat to put a twin turbo nitroused 18 cyl engine in a go kart!?" silly crap like that for example is the same line of thinking as these recent posts of yours

Well maybe I want broad answers, I mean, I want to explore ALL the possibilities. I dont want to have to swap an engine if it's not necessary. I want to be totally confident in whatever I do.
