a cam is a logical next step. you will want to look long and hard at your tb though. if you haven't removed the ridges and done the tower riser mod you will not fully feed a good cam. the L98 cam should pass the breath test pretty easy, a 285 hp LT1 cam would also be a nice choice and should pass emissions once tuned in properly(fuel pressure and timing)
hope this helps

Your car is currently equipped with a hydraulic roller cam. I've never seen a roller cam less than about $220.

YOu can get GM rollers for less than $150 from SDPC2000.com. I like the LT4 OEM cam, VERY EFI friendly and not too much duration and huge lobe sep, which is good for EFI and will SURELY pass the sniffer. Should be like $160 or so.

EDIT: Another good cam is the roller cam they use in the RamJet 350 (1.6 rollers) and in the HT 383cid (1.5 ratio) engines. The RamJet 350cid makes 350hp, I think, and quite a bit of torque. Cam is quite mellow duration-wise, but with 1.6's and good heads, what's wrong with 350hp and gobs of low-end torque????

i got my LT1 cam for 20 bucks from a guy on the mafb.org mailing list. you can re use you stock roller lifters since they don't really wear unless they are messed up or you missed about 5 years of oil changes.
