TBI Injector Spacers

I was looking at the Injector spacers on www.turbocity.com . I was wondering if anybody had these and if so what they thought. Also do you have to buy two of them or just one? Thanks.

If yu just mean the TBI spacer that goes underneath the unit. Dont have one. But watch your stock hood clearence. I have a 1/2" plate for my NOS and it is DAMN close!

Its not the TBI spacer that goes between your intake manifold and the injection unit. There is a separate spacer they sell that raises the injectors inside the unit and are supposed to increase airflow.

Not just air flow, it's also to tune the fuel spray to just above the edges of the throttle blades. If the injectors are too low they'll spray right onto the blades at part throttle. It's complicated but it is a good idea to get one or make your own. I think you need to cut the TB base to get the stock fuel line fittings to fit.

hmmmm i never thought of that.... Damn what a P.I.T.A. I will wait until tomorrow and go look at that. You don't think there will be enough play in the lines to make it fit?

The fuel lines are bendable, but not very much. If you've got smoe extra $$$, braided lines would work, and look much nicer too.

This isn't anything new. It's been around for at least 10 years. When you crank up fuel pressure you should always look at the fuel spray and make sure that it isn't dripping like a shower and spraying onto the throttle blades. Best way to tune it is with extra gaskets but if you move it up about a 1/4" then the plastic spacer would be wise.

I know there was a thread on this, but where is the spray supposed to be hitting? What is ideal? Mine is wide and hits the top 1/3 of the throttle body rather than right above the throtttle plates. What is the ideal location and what happens if the spray is too high or too low? I think pablo or someone else had this one down. Appreciate any help...........bob

I'm not an expert on this but for best gas milage you want to have the fuel spray a couple mm above the throttle blades at idle. The air moving by the throttle blades is so fast that it atomizes the fuel and makes for a very good mixture. I think that's best but if you raise the injectors at WOT you might notice a gain up top because the injectors are not restricting air as bad.
I could be wrong but that's what I've gathered over the past few years.
