You should go with lt1 cam it is the best cam for our cars and is very cheap and easy to find!!

There were five or seven (I forget) different grinds for the LT1 cam. I don't think it matters which one you get, but you'll probably have to shave a bushing off the end of the cam to make it fit, but that's all...I got mine out of a 1996 Corvette, almost brand new, because he bought the car, never drove it, and then swapped a hotter cam in right away. It doesn't matter though, ANYTHING is better than the L03 cam.

My fastest time was 15.34 at 90 mph that was with a short belt and a half way cut out, with neg traction and 2.73s.
I have not ran it yet with cam in becuase I am waiting for my 3.42 gears and posi to come in. The lt1 cam will make a noticeble difference in your car.

ZRATED, did you do anything to your heads when you changed the cams? I mean such as porting and or changing the springs. Also are you still running the stock intake? Thanks for a reply!

Another question has come to mind after reading the Car Craft article about a 300plus HP 305 buildup. If the intake for the stock heads does need replacing does it make sense to spend 15 bucks more and get the Edelbrock RPM intake? It made more power with the stock setup on the test motor they used. How do you guys think that it will work with the stock heads and LT4 cam? Thanks!

if you want it to run well right off the bat without a chip stay mild. Id suggest a performer RPM and an L98 or LT1 cam

Hey Pablo. Doing well I hope. I just now burnt a new chip from the stock 91 to remove the speed limiter and raise the idle to at least where I can tell it's running. I will be using the LT4 cam that I have. Think I should use the 1.6 rollers as well or will that be too much?

stock springs will die with the 1.6's and you should have adjusted the idle manually along with the desired idle in the chip so that you keep your IAC counts down at idle. You want most of the air passing through the throttle blades rather than the IAC passage.

Springs will be new with 1.6 rockers. The car idles right where I set it. I did not pay much attention to the idle air counts the last time that I had my scanner hooked up. I'm fixing to drop the oil pan and see what it looks like and if things look decent I may install my Vortec top end and see what it will do. See ya.
