Any body ever clean their TB?

I used 1 1/2 cans of throttle body cleaner and black crap is still comin out of there....this can't be normal-is there some other way I can do this-I don't think I'm effectively "cleaning it"

ChemDip!! Its this nasty toxic stuff in a paint can lookin thing. Its got a "basket" inside so you can dunk things in it and lift it out later. It'll practically strip the chrome off a trailer hitch.

what are yoiu cleaning out? the bores or the vacuum ports? the bores should take very little to clean up, but if you are cleaning the vacuum ports it is gonna take a ton of stuff to clean them. the passages are so smal that they catch all kinds of crap, mostly greasy stuff. i use pipe cleaners to get into mine to clean them.

all of the vacuum passages are gona have black gunk in em. would say about a teaspoon of crud was on the bottom of mine when i first took it off at 80k miles. i just used a parts cleaning bin with a brush etc. most people dont have that kind of stuff. i would get a good stiff plastic brush and some parts cleaner, carb cleaner whatever, its never gona all come off though. as long as you get the thick gunk, i wouldnt worry about it being dirty.

I hope you don't spray a chlorinated brake parts cleaner in a running engine... That'll hurt oil lubricity on the cylinder walls BAD!!!

Check the brake cleaner can and look for "contains chlorine" or "non-chlorinated". It's either one of the other... You should really use carb cleaner...

I use Brake parts cleaner after I take them off of the motors. I usually clean all my parts with it.
