JET Performance TBI AFPR

Eh, PN 561-61500 in Jeg's...

Now, Jon keeps trying to convince me that the do-it-yourself AFPR is easy...I'm still hesitant. I'm probably going to give it a shot this weekend, but if I decide against it, what do you think of this product? I'm curious to know if anyone's used it..it says it's for 87-95 GM TBI pickups, I assume it fits on our cars...and also, anyone know if it fits in stock place? It's only 60 bucks, and if I decide not to use my terrible skills with precise trick mods like this adjustable fuel pressure business, I might consider this, especially with my mods and the nitrous...

It will work. I took mine off though in favor of the vAFPR. It's cheaper than the JET too.

How about you just make the factory one adjustable and save the money for a fuel pressure guage! Wow, now THAT sounds like a cost effective idea. BTW, the vAFPR is a good product.

vacum adjustable fuel pressure reg, is the BEST CHOICE. with a new spring, its comes adjustable, and it works with a vacuum signal as a sort of "auto adjuster" on it to help you get a good idle and nonlean Wide open throttle.

What's the part number for that vAFPR? There are a ton of choices on Summit and then I could just make this easier and get the JET one.

It's good if you've got some heavy mods and don't like burning your own eproms.

I have the jet one. It works good, but a free mod is better because you don't pay for it.. It doesn't add that much unless you have someway of actually monitoring it, such as an a/f gauge or a fuel pressure gauge...

Its like trying to set the timing without a timing light..

Funny you say trying to set timing without a tming light....cause I do . I just set base timing so the car starts easy, idles good, doesn't stall when put into gear, and I'm set. Then I play with the SA tables in the eprom .
Oh yeah, and you can definatly tune without the o2 sensor gauge. A few options for all of you wanting to play with fuel pressure:
1.) Borrow, beg, steal a scanner and look at the BLM under normal driving conditions. You want to be close to 128. Don't pay attention to WOT because it goes to 128 without "thinking"
2.) Use a multimeter and tap a lead into the o2 sensor line going to the ecm! Watch, you want it to bounce around 450 from 200-800mv
Under hard acceloration you want it to be closer to 800mv.
3.) Make your own o2 sensor gauge, if interested e-mail me.
4.) Tune your fuel pressure so that the thing doesn't stall and you get your highest mph in the 1/4!

Combined with the PROM I'm getting burnt I will either do the free mod AFPR or buy the JET one...whatever I want. I have an air/fuel gauge if I really need to monitor it...
