Fuel Pressure Regulator

I need to change my fuel pressure regulator but I can not find one anywhere. Does anybody know where I can pick one up from I have looked everywhere including local parts store. It does not matter if it is a adjustable or non adjustable I just would like the whole regulator. It is for a 88 305 TBI. If anybody knows a website or anything please let me konw thanx.

If I am not able to find one I was thinking of disengaging the stock one and installing a inline regulator. Any pointers and help on this would be nice.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

why? and you should be able to get one from a lot of places on the net. adjustable are going to be easier to find than stock. Unless you go to a dealer.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

Don't you think that is the reason I am writing here because I can't find one anywhere on the net for a 305 TBI. And if I am going to need to put on an adjustable one I need to know how to disengage the stock on and install an inline regulator.

autopartsgiant.com. Follow the prompts for your model and year. Pick a 94-95 TBI'd 454 truck if you want teh high pressure version.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

i mean why do you need to change it... and when you say whole regulator are you mistaken and really meaning the entire injector pod assembly?

I'm asking because the regulator isnt typically a part that wears out or breaks... and when you say "the whole regulator" - have you found just the spring, just the diaphram, and just the shell seperately somewhere?

anyway.... just trying to help.

http://www.google.com/products?q=tbi...ator+305&hl=en

googled it... not that tough to find them.

my point before was that if you explain a bit more of what issue you are dealing with and trying to work through or around... we all could provide better help to you.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

I have found the diaphram. I need to replace the regulator shell and spring. The owner befor tried to do the adjustable mod and bent it all up and it looks pretty messed up. I just need to replace it and the spring I already have the diaphram.

Thanx for the help.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

O.K. guy I got the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and installed it already. How can I adjust it for the right fuel to air ratio. I tried using the tech article using a multimeter, but couldn't get it. I don't know if I was doing it wrong or what but the voltage kept jumping aroung so I couldn't get an accurate or baseline reading.

Any help?

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

The ECM is in closed loop, so the O2 voltage will go all over the place as its making corrections to the fueling. Hook up a scantool and try to get the BLMs close to 128 with the fuel pressure adjustments.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

not to sound like a moron but I am not exactly sure what a scantool is and where to get one and I have no clue to what BLM's are.

Can you elaborate?

Sorry.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator

blm is a term for something the computer uses to adjust the air/fuel ratio...

if I were you I would get an adapter for a fuel pressure gauge and just set it to 13 or 14 and the computer will get you to good if your car isnt modified too much.
