Since my car is TBI, can I just use a normal air filter to increase the air flow? I want to put the edelbrock one on but what do I do with all the sensors and wires going into the stock one?

The air filter is probably the last thing holding you back. Usually, if the intake is the point of restriction, it has a lot more to do with the size and routing of the ducting off the air cleaner housing, than the paper element itself. I prefer paper elements over K&N.

Do you think that the dool snorkel would be a little better for the air flow. Sorry about the spelling. ill post some pics of what i have and need some seggestion on little better setup for me as well as orig poster.

Possibly. It is also possible that with a stock 305 TBI, your intake flows enough air for your stock cam and heads, and you will gain nothing.

Unless you are going to swapping the stock housing to something like an open element or dual snorkel, save your money and just replace the dirty paper filter with a clean one. If you do go to an open element air cleaner, then you will only have to move one sensor....the IAT sensor and plug one vacuum connection.

Re: 305 TBI
I heard this analogy once and I find it to be a good one:
An engine is supposed to pull and shove a lot of air, the more the higher power.
Imagine a vacuum cleaner where the hose has many restrictions - one for each of the filter, intake manifold, valves and exhaust. Some are more severe than the others.
Removing one or replacing it with a less tight constriction will certainly improve the overall flow - a little. But in order to get good flow you need to fix them all.
Replacing the air filter will gain you a less than noticeable performance boost unless everything else is already changed. If you want more power, the best bang for your buck would be to swap camshaft. Next up, exhaust. Next, cylinder heads. Next, intake manifold.
But of course, it doesn't hurt to change it - much as it doesn't hurt to paint flames on the side of the car either.

There is no intake duct though it's as just a normal carb air filter on top the of carb.

A Pro-Flo 1000 open element from Edlebrock will give it all the air it will ever need. It flows 1000 CFM, it's compact, has a washable foam filter, and it's cheap. The only sensor you should have in there is for the AIT (Air Inlet Temperature). The Pro-Flo 1000 has two provisions on the base plate to put that type of thing in. Your best bet is to jesut extend the wires though and get that sensor to some cooler air. The vaccum line going into the factory air cleaner isn't needed. All it does is control the THERMAC (heat stove). Trash that unless you live in fear of your throttle blades freezing shut.
With TBI it needs all the help you can get to unshroud the throttle bores. The Pro-Flo 1000 does that as the entire thing is an air filter so it pulls air in from the sides and the top. You will notcie the difference even with the resot of the car being factory spec.
