TB Rebuild Kits
Re: TB Rebuild Kits
thats exactly why i ask them for a SBC 95 TBI/EFI rebuild kit.. for the price$$ as i know they are the same kit..
the BBC kit he wanted 80 something dollars for.. i laughed too.. then i played a game with him: i bought the SBC kit, and the 2 separate gaskets for the BBC tb..

Just to add my two cents worth:
CSK Inc
Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply, Kragen Auto Parts, and Murray's Discount Auto Parts stores or Advance Auto Parts .
Kragen is common here in SoCal
Niehoff CK1081 $29.99

Re: TB Rebuild Kits
Hey all,
Thanks for posting this information. Can I take this thread one step further and ask where can you get the bushings for the throttle shaft? Mine's worn and won't keep idle. I can wiggle the throttle linkage and get it back down to 700-800rpms, but as soon as you hit the pedal it sticks to 1000 rpm. I've checked everything IAC, idle stop, etc. Adjusted the idle multiple times and still come up w/ the same problem.
Do they sell a kit that you can press in your own bushings or would that be better left to a professional? If so, does anyone have any contacts on where I can send mine?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: TB Rebuild Kits
go to the crossfire site crossfire.net and look at "throttle body". there is a rebuilder there. If fact there is a thread about using bearings on the linkage side and bushing on other.
Re: TB Rebuild Kits
Link doesn't really lead anywhere, searched for the crossfire site and came up empty handed.I did google throttle shaft bushings and got a couple of good hits, although some of the "kits" are $125.

Re: TB Rebuild Kits
if it helps anyone, i just picked a throttle body rebuild kit for 88 TBI up at advanced auto for about $29. P/N was 97-724. They called it a fuel injection repair kit. Just incase anyone needed it.
